Our Mission
Saint Bartholomew’s mission is to effectively eliminate chronic pain for as many people as we can.
Doing that effectively requires a comprehensive approach to the human body.
While our program does include traditional methods like strength training, corrective exercise and massage treatment, we must recognize the role of the brain in the treatment process.
In the presence of fear, self-doubt, anxiety, depression or any mental chaos, the brain will trigger a fight-or-flight response that ultimately stiffens the body and prevents a treatment plan from being successful.
Modern medicine has fallen remarkably short in its ability to treat the struggles of the nervous system and chronic pain as a whole.
40 million adults suffer from an anxiety disorder and 37% of Americans rated their mental health as “Fair or Poor” 12
6 million adults suffer from a panic disorder3
7.7 million Americans report suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder4
544,000 hip replacement surgeries and 790,000 knee replacement surgeries are done each year.5
Total knee replacement surgeries are expected to grow by 673% by 2030.6
Lower back pain costs Americans $100 billion annually in health care costs.7
Doctors simply say “Stress Less” or suggest “try meditation,” which ultimately fall far short of the overwhelming cognitive demand of today’s world.
Thankfully we don’t need to rest our hopes on future innovation to find the solution.
Instead, St. Bartholomew’s looks to the past and one of the cornerstones of civilization for that answer. The Bible.
The Bible offers time tested frameworks for drawing order from chaos and St. Bartholomew’s makes these strategies easy to understand and accessible to everyone.
St. Bartholomew’s pairs these nervous system strategies with breath work, strength training, cardiovascular conditioning and soft tissue treatment to produce remarkable breakthroughs in chronic pain clients.
